Sewer hose supports... What do you use?

We are at a site for a few months and needed a system. We settled on a 2x4x16' that was sitting on the property. We used a few bricks to chock the board at the appropriate slope. We tied the hose to the top of the board with Walmart plastic bags (it took 2 bags for each tie point). Works great! We dump once or twice a week depending if we run the clothes washer.

We use the tressel system but I have a 10' piece of plastic rain trough cut in half for support for the hose to lay in. This seems to work good as it stops the hose from drooping/sagging when you dump the tanks.p

I raise my Windsor up as high as it will go for two reasons. One is for the sewer hose to fit under the coach easily and still drain quickly and the other is because my air leveling has a VERY slow leak in the rear someplace that everyone who has worked on it cannot find it. So I just use one of those Stromberg-Carlson adjustable front entry steps to help with getting in and out of the coach.

If and when I happen to be in Indiana, I plan to stop at the HWH company and have them find the leak and fix it permanently.

Richard, I'm WAAAY to cheap to pay $97 for a stepstool! I guess I'm not seeing something here. If you dump all the air to get the step down, what difference does it make if you have a small leak? At that point, there's no more air to leak. What am I missing?

I used this last trip and was very happy no need to suport the hose as it is under pressure.

Me too except I use the 25 foot one because of where we stay in the winter.

There are some places - the county where Benson AZ is located for example - that require that the hose not rest on the ground. I bought my first set after full timing for four or five years without supports for that reason.

Since then I have found it so handy that I often use it even when stopping for a night or two.

You're not missing anything. That's what most people do however, I am just different. I never liked the rocking movement in the coach when there was no air in the bags plus the fact that the sewer hose was always on the ground with no slope or proper drainage to the opening because the coach was so low. I had to always walk the hose to drain it each time I dumped which got old real quick. Plus there are some places that do not allow any sewer hoses to lay directly on the ground. Just their rules.

Im still fairly new so I am not quite sure of why a hose tressel would be needed. Even though I hook up the sewer hose , along with power and water, on site I only dump when tanks are near fulll. I lay the hose out on the ground so there are no sharp bends often partially under the edge of the coach so it doesn't look like I just dropped it there. I may have to dump the grey a couple of times a week, especially after a few loads of laundry, but it is simple enough. Pull the handle...push the handle.
Even if I left the grey valve open during my stay, I'd still have to close it several days prior to dumping the black. I do have to manually lift the hose to drain and flush before putting it away but that seems like less work than setting up and tearing down the hose supports in the first place.
However, I'll keep an open mind. If I do decode to use supports it won't be the first time I changed my mind.

As has been pointed out previously in the thread, some campgrounds require them. Usually if there are sharp rocks on the RV lots that can damage a hose.

Well, see there. Already a reason to change my mind. I just haven't run into a campground that required them.... yet. Since we're getting ready to go full time I may have to get something to keep in the basement just in case.
This all is just a great big learning experience... Love it.

I usually carry firewood, all sizes. When necessary I will lay out a few different sizes to line up height to dump hole. Works great and I still have wood if needed.

Definitely not an option for an RVer who travels significant distances. Pretty much everywhere I've been the last few years has serious restrictions on transporting firewood into the area. See:

It has small holes. I cut it in half length wise with a saw
