shades/curtains

Anyone ever replaced curtains with/or added pull or electric visor type shades in front? Not even sure if the shades are an aftermarket item, but sure seem to be handier than pull curtains. Seems newer MHs now have this type of shade rather than curtains.

Yes. I installed two window shades on our motor home. It was a great improvement. I just happened to go by a Camping World when they were getting rid of some electric shades. Regular price is rather high but at discounted price was reasonable. They came with wires and switches. I ran the control wires thru the cabinet down the post to the control panel. Easy to control while driving.

I installed 2 36" electric shades, one on each side of the front window. They are much larger than the sun visors that were original. They do not fully cover the windshield but help a lot when driving into the sun.

We seriously considered it because our drapes in the front were wearing thin. Two things caused us to get new drapes. One, we saw a friend with pets who had the shades, and there wasn't much flexibility and they were all over the dash and tearing up the shades. Two, we realized that being in California, we like storing our coach with the type of curtain our coach has because it has a sunscreen-type of lining. When we're not using the coach, they really protect the interior from the sun and keep the temperature down.

MCD makes most of those shades that cover the front completely.

Yes, just replaced front curtains with pull shad. Very pleased, bought it from local guy who does home window treatment. Much easier to use, much faster, much more position control.
