I believe they sent the wrong truck to pull it as well, looks way under rated for the job IMO.

This is what you need. It won't be cheap but you can be sure it will get there.

I'm needing education, I guess. IF its a route of let's say 1000 miles @ 8MPG, then we're at $500 in fuel costs. One day drive for the driver is what, $300?
Return ticket plus driver time $600? All that comes to about $1500, or $2/mile.

Would any firm do this trek for $2/mile, or even $3/mile?

Why not drive it that distance?

The reasons that I didn't want to drive it were because:
It now belonged to someone else.
It is 27 yrs old and I had never driven it or any MH over the road.
10 yr old steer tires would need to be replaced and other work needed to be done. The sales price was discounted to reflect this.
I had switched my insurance to my other motorhome and the insurer would not cover it while it was for sale, so it was uninsured.
My obligation was to turn it over, as-is.
Buyer was responsible for these other things.

We chose shipping because they quoted a reasonable price, compared to buyer's time and expenses to drive another vehicle and tools and driver, here to do the work in a parking lot, looking at taking a week off of work.

It ended up that broker acknowledged my request for cancellation and refund, but hasn't refunded money yet. We had a sale price and agreed to split shipping. Buyer sent his half of shipping, so I had tires put on it and set it up in a campground for him. He started the drive, with a buddy, after work Fri and arrived 4 am, got some sleep, got up and took ownership and checked fluids, tires etc and hit the road again. Made it home without any major problems.

A drop-deck trailer is needed. The 5th wheel section comes apart from the trailer deck. This allows the MH to be backed onto the trailer. Try some of the movers on RV, Auto Transport & Car Shipping Quotes | Vehicle Shippers & Movers
