The Tiff Green (golf course) on my yard in Chandler, AZ was beautiful. Cut once a week, fed 4-6X/ year. It supported a MH with no problems.

OK, I've been in road construction all my life and found if we put heavy equipment on rich green grass we expect to make close to a foot deep ruts in one pass but I have no idea what Tiff Green Golf Course is.

unless you put in a straight shot right from the curb to the planned rv spot you will have issues backing and turning an 8' wide 40' long box into a 10.5' wide space. you *will* catch on a corner eventually. either the house or the rv.

Think "ZEROSCAPE"...

it is landscaping that uses zero water

If it will fit, AND everyone is okay, you will need a driveway and path

If you remove all of the turf and build a "DESERT" setting the path can be hidden in plain sight with portable containers or other things.

This is a general idea, there are pros who could create the plan

If you can get away with it while keeping the peace, having the coach convenient is priceless to a do-it-yourselfer!

Width is not the problem as long as you have plenty of space to get lined up to back straight in. My 40 ft takes a lot of room to turn.

@SarahW: Well, we don't have an HOA, so that is one issue we can avoid.

@Wanderso: Storage in our area is pretty expensive, about $350 per month. (San Jose, CA)

@ Bluepill: If I back in, I will be able to open the door. Should able to open the rear passenger side slide. None of the driver side slides could open. Pretty good basement access on passenger side, but not on driver's side.

If my neighbor complained, then that could start some issues, but I could work it out with them. I don't think there would be a problem. Generally our city is ok with parking the RV in the backyard or the driveway.

I should have room to line up, but a bit of a backwards S is required.

So it seems doable, but with the limited access, not a huge win.

Does your neighbor or neighbors care? Will it devalue the neighborhood? Do others in your neighborhood do this? If all is ok, weigh the costs.

I have never been able to understand how or why a beautiful motorhome tucked down the side of the house would or could actually devalue a neighbours property or the neighbourhood!! We are currently just about to buy a house on a lot that hasn't begun construction yet. There will be enough room for me to park out Mh down the side of the house. Especially since I plan to hide it with a tall hedge and a fence/gate. No one will even know its there except for when we leave and come back home. If I were you, I'd go talk to my neighbours and see if they were opposed to it, especially if you were not within the city bylaws. Too many headaches if you aren't. Otherwise go for it!!
