Should I mod my class A for hot water on demand?
So I am looking at purchasing a older diesel pusher, and none of the features of the newer and way more expensive diesel pushers are a deal breaker except that my DW is a long, lingering, shower fan, and 10 gallons of hot water will not suffice. Will purchasing an older RV and adding on one of the aftermarket Hot-Water-on-Demand units suit our needs? How good are the results of the add on water heaters?
If you have experience with these then who did the install, and what make model did you use?
Thanks,
James

If we use propane and electric on our 10 gal WH we never run out of hot water. We usually only use electric and get two good showers.

That's the same for us.
Mr M....have you tried it with both gas and electric turned on?
And I'm also wondering if there is a problem with the water heater itself.
Do you have a low flow head on the shower? If not that may be part of the problem.

Send her to the campground's showers, they have huge water heaters. And you don't need to mess with plumbing and wiring a second system.

Our motorhome had a propane 6 gal hot water heater. We too was tired of the quick showers. I purchased this hotwater heater from Homedepot for $190. It is either 6 or 7 gal. In series we have yet run out of hot water (disclaimer we don't take looooong showers. Fills grey up fast 50 gal). We have taken showers back to back and works well. I placed the electric up stream to the gas waterheater and set it on max heat. Propane never comes on during showers.

That's for sure. However, it would be a large project to install all the lines (both water and fuel) to install an AH. I really don't see how you could get access to the areas needed. Plus, it takes up one entire basement section.
