Show us your inflatables
I've got an inflatable kayak on order. Right now I have a little pond I want to go out on that prohibits motors. As soon as it warms up, I'm getting out there.
I was surprised to see these fold up in such small packages. Leads me to wonder what some of you are using for fishing boats - inflatables or foldables that is.
If you have a setup that you pack in your RV, I'd like to see it. What kind of motor do you carry? How big is your boat? How do you get it to the water?

I have a Sea Eagle 12 foot semi-rigid inflatable with a 15 hp outboard. Up until this year the folded up boat and floorboards went inside the jeep and the motor rode on one of those platforms that mounts on the hitch receiver of the jeep. Now it all goes in the basement of the DP we bought. Loads of fun when we are in the keys every February.

I have a small 10' Walden kayak that goes in the bed of the pickup. If not going too far, DH puts his 16' canoe on a rack on the TV. It makes such an awful noise that I would not go far with it, a deep thrumming vibration from the wind. It sets my teeth on edge.

We have a Sea Eagle kayak that folds up into a square that is about 3' X 3' and is fairly flat. It sets up rather quickly and handles well on the water.

After decades of hauling around a canoe or kayak, I've learned that the thrumming noise is usually the flat webbed straps vibrating in the wind. This can be remedied by putting a twist or two in the straps so they don't catch the air stream. It also can help to use pieces of pipe insulation on the gunnels of the canoe where it rests on crossbars.

wincrasher.....We have a two man inflatable Hobie kayak with pedal drives. You can pedal it or row it. It also comes with a sale attachment. It folds into a bag about 48" x 30" x 18". I put it on one of those cheap Harbor Freight racks on the back of the coach. If we're close to the water we roll it down on wheels. If we're not, we put it in the bed of our truck (toad) and drive it there.
