Shower Diverter and Drain

I know there is a simple answer to this but...

Just purchased a 2000 Triple E Commander. Cant figure out how to engage the shower diverter. I have a very basic unit with hot and cold knobs and a threaded attachment on top for the shower hose. There is no other lever, etc. that I can find on the unit. I can get good water flow into the tub, but cannot divert the water up to the shower.

Also noticed that the shower/tub drains very very slowly. I am sure this was rarely if ever used, so not sure where the problem might be. Are there drain cleaning products that are safe for MH plumbing?

Our shower hose connected to the tub outlet needs to be pulled UP to engage the shower... No levers or such...

Thanks, yes I did try to pull up and push down on the unit but did not want to pull it off the wall. Have to try again, perhaps it is seized from non use.

Yes a picture would be helpful.. Our home one has the round end of the tub faucet that pulls down..(where the tub water comes out) I hadn't seen one of those before.....
