Shurflo 5.7 Extreme Smart Sensor leaking
Folks,
I've read the many posts here referencing the 5.7 and leaking from what I believe is the pre 2006 four wire pressure sensor model.
I went to complete the sanitizing of the water system for this years camping and discovered a leak at the head on the Shurflo under the removable cap where there are four control wires attached. The cap is not meant to be water tight. The water squirts continuously with the pump on out of the top of the wires' connector. I can see light through connector which leads into the outlet side chamber. It is a direct hole and looks manufactured. If it isn't a manufactured hole, can I plug it and save the cost of a replacement pump?
The picture shows the four wires running into the connector with the hole just above the wires or prongs.
Is something missing? I have the complete pump head apart and cannot see any dry valves or broken plastic.
Also, I understand Shurflo May no longer make repair kits for this pump.
The Meridian is 10 years old, but according to Shurflo's website, the pump I have is an after-market replacement which tells me it has been replaced at least once prior to the two years we have owed it.
If I have to replace this, has anyone found anything better that the AquaJet Rv model at 5.3 gpm?
Thanks for the read!
