Simple Tire.com

I just ordered 6 Samson 245/70R19.5 tires from Simple Tire. Like everyone else, they have a sale on now, though price is already low. My cost is $1009.90 including FET and shipping to my house. No state tax. My other cost will be valves, mounting and balance beads. I doubt if that deal can be beat!

I has SimpleTire ship them to my installer. Great company to work with, but like all tire companies, check to make sure the tires are fresh. Especially with a MH, tires that are already several years old are not a deal. My tires were 10 weeks old -- NICE!

Thanks for the info. I went to their site and found Toyo M154 and Sumitomo ST718, in 245/75-R22.5 for......$216 each. Plus tax, shipping and install.

They had 5 others ranging from $275 each (Yoko RY103)...to $466 each for Goodyear G670.

From the Web Site FAQ:

It appears they can ship tires dated up to 5 years old without informing you before shipment.

Tires that need adjustment or replacement due to manufacturing defects need to be dismounted and shipped back to them for evaluation. That is unsettling and could be costly.

The installer seems to have no responsibility in the process.

..........................

Their installed prices appear to be about $130 per tire less than a local dealer's price for Toyo M137 tires so I have to weigh the above concerns against that $130 savings.

(As my local dealer actually took back 6 Toyo tires at full price with 4,000 miles on them due to their inability to balance 4 of them on the rear axle (16 dismounts and remounts later), the above limitations gives me pause. )

But....the pricing is great.

I saw on their website (FAQ) ??.....that after your payment clears and they are handling your tires for shipment....you can ask for DOT info....but I forgot what will happen if you are not happy with the date code.

From the Web Site:

Are the DOT codes are your tires current?

In most cases, the tires we sell have current DOT codes. However there are times where we have tires that may be slightly older. Due to manufacturer regulations we can sell tires up to 5 years old without notification. However if the DOT codes are older than 5 years old we will contact the customer to inform them of this and gain their consent before shipping tires out. If for some reason you receive tires that are older than 5 years old and have not received a call from us, please let us know and we can take the tires back free of charge (as long as they have not been mounted or used). Most tires are warranted by the manufacturer for up to 10 years so as long as the tires is not dry rotted or cracked, and it is kept in a climate control warehouse, they are perfectly safe for use.

Several folks have had success in their dealings, but I seldom win in a Casino so am cautious.

DEAL BREAKER

THere is no reason they can't disclose that info before shipping.

They sell an awful lot of tires. My six got here wed. Date codes on them is 3915. I suppose if you need an odd size you could get an older tire. Suit yourself. As for me, I am happy as a hog in mud.

I put a set of Samson tires on my last MH. Possibly just my luck but they never rode very well (vibration). I took them to a place that offered "Road Force Balancing" and they did their best on all six (from memory, this was an additional $300-$400). The improvement was significant but still not "smooth". The shop told me that "you get what you pay for". Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

My local shop installed my 6 tires for $93.00. I had my own balance beads from e-bay. My Chinese Bombs look as if they will last a long time. They ride smooth as butter and I am very pleased. Total overall cost is $1193.74. That is the total cost. Paying thousands more for any brand would make me no happier! P.S. Samson tires.
