Sleep Number Mattress Best Source

I recall seeing a number of posts pro and con about the Sleep Number mattress. We briefly tried one today and it seems to be pretty good. One possible advantage over our current mattress is that it is less likely to develop a depression that even our firm mattress has on my side.

Unfortunately they are outrageously expensive. Is there a discount direct price available somewhere that is much better than the store price?

I know they are a lot cheaper if they say Coleman on them.

We have had a Sleep number in our home for 15 years and wouldn't have anything else. We had a Sleep Number RV mattress in our previous MH but it wasn't offered as an option when we ordered our new one. I ordered a Dream Number bed and have been happy so far. It is quite a bit cheaper than the Sleep Number and is very similar in construction. As long as you do not have a "short" mattress in your RV, you aren't required to by the RV mattress , any model will work.

Check your local Craigslist. We've bought our last two that were near new at rock bottom price. In store prices are outrageous in my opinion. Not sure about the current models but ones with the memory foam topper seem to be much more comfortable.

Just remember this: most Sleep Number mattresses for RV's are shorter than the ones made for a home. My RV sleep number is 4" shorter than my sleep number in the house. That can present a big issue when you pull in the slides in some cases (like mine where the mattress is right up against the opposing slide). Camping World has the RV sleep numbers on sale occasionally. Then sometimes you can get one from ads on rv sites.

Be sure you measure before you order. Mine is a standard Queen.

Several years ago we bought a refurbished Sleep Number direct from the factory at about a 40% discount. These are mostly beds that someone has sent back because they didn't like them or couldn't afford them. All the fabric is changed out to new and the bed completely checked out. Not sure if they still offer that or not. This discount is ONLY available from the factory, NOT from one of their stores.

Camping world often has sales on their sleep number mattresses. There are different sizes available, so do measure. We replaced our mattress in the MH with one. It was so great we measured our mattress at home and found the same measurement Sleep number thru camping world. Much cheaper than buying one from the sleep number store. RV mattresses don't have as thick a pillow top as the home types. Also, you don't need the expensive (but cheap) base that the home style uses for your RV. Just get the sleep number rv mattress and replace you MH mattress. Best thing we ever did to improve our sleep!
