Not sure this helps but

It depends on what you are lubricating. If you are lubing the gears under the slide then any spray lube will do but not WD 40. That is a solvent. If you are talking about the rubber gasket around the exterior of the slide well then you have options. I tried a spray lube that you can get at at your RV store or camping world but I'm not happy with it. After I sprayed it on, the slides squeaked much worse than they ever did when they were dry. Others have talked about using an old sock tied on the end of a pole that is filled with talcum powder. You apply it by slapping the sock along the rubber gasket. I might try that the next time but I still don't know why you need to lubricate the gaskets in the first place.

I love the 3X line of RV products. I can vouch that both the slide-out lubricant and seal spray work well.

I use CRC Lube with PFTE (teflon) for all the mechanical parts of the slides (recommended by Schwintek), and 303 Protectant on all the rubber seals. Both are available on-line or through an auto parts store (may need to be ordered) ... also available through RV dealers at a more expensive price ...

If it's a rack & pinion geared slide, it really doesn't need any. Use one of the products above if you feel you must.

Keeping the sides and bottom clean & waxed is probably of more value than lubing the mechanism. Helps it slide past the wiper rubbers more easily.
