Noticed some fluid puddling in one of my compartments. Traced it to a hydraulic leak coming from the piston that extends the living room slide out.

It is leaking from where the piston enters the larger portion of the rod. Thinking it must be a blown seal.

I will be taking it back to the dealer shortly but was hoping for some insight as to what to expect. Will they replace the seal or does the whole piston ram have to be replaced. Anyone had this problem?

thanks

Steve

They should be replacing the whole ram, which is both parts. I think yours may be a lippert design but not sure.

It is a Lippert system and the warranty was only a year.

Is the ram expensive?

The cost is probably $250 plus shipping. I would recommend you call Lippert and complain. The squeeky wheel get the grease. THe may extend the wrranty to supply the parts and you pay the labor to install or install it yourself. Good luck and keep us posted as to the results.

Called Lippert. They say I have a five year warranty. Parts and labour. Manual says one year but I like the 5 year better. He said all I have to pay for is the gas to get there.

Pays to call them even if you think the warranty is over.

Thanks for the help guys
