Slideout Seal Replacement

The old slideout seal(UniGrip?) was starting to show its age on our 02 Signature, so we changed them(2 slideouts) with Clean Seal Clean Grip #ZML-6705. Both slideout awnings were completely off the coach.

On this coach, the metal ridge that the seal is pressed onto is made of aluminum, so the only rust we found was the old exposed metal teeth on the old seal.

I got a bid of 7 hrs labor($100/hr) to change both seals plus parts. It took me a week. I spent more than 7 hrs just cleaning the tops of the slides. I also applied SeaFit marine grade non-skid tape from West Marine to ea slideout to help pull the wiper seal into place as it reaches full extension.

As somebody else? stated, a "Stanley -Wonder Bar" from Home Depot is a must for this job.

We have 41' of the ZML-6705 left over if somebody local to us(San Antonio area) would like to purchase it? Here's our ad for it in the iRV2 classifieds 41' of Clean Grip ZML-6705 slideout seal - RV & Motorhome Classifieds

And here's the link to the CleanSeal website. The ZML-6705 is all the way at the bottom http://www.cleanseal.com/clean-grip.html

How do you like this universal seal compared to the OEM seal? If/when I need to replace my slide seals, may I contact you for pointers/tips?
