I have a rear mounted spare tire carrier and I am considering mounting a new one on the front bumper in front of the radiator. I have a 77 GMC 400 CID with cabin air and a friend is telling me on hot days it would encumber the air flow and may cause overheating.

I live in an area of Canada that actually gets temperatures in the mid nineties to low hundreds and this information is of concern to me as my wife NEEDS air conditioning.

I wouldn't do it again. I tried that on a 1978 Ford p.u. that I pulled a tt with and it did cause it to run hot, then the oil pressure would drop too much.
