Steer Safe

Have any of you used the product? If so, where did you buy it? There aren't any dealers listed on their website.

I had one on my last motorhome and I bought it at Camping World and had it installed by Camping World. You can also buy direct and install it yourself.

I phoned them and ordered it direct from them. They sent it immediately, and I had it within a few days. I haven't installed it yet, but it doesn't appear to be too difficult.

I bought from and had installed by Camping World. Very pleased with it. A big difference in handling and peace of mind. John H...

We ordered it on line and installed it on an old P30 chassis. It made it a lot easier to drive.

I wouldn't leave home without it. You can order it directly from the Factory as I did when I bought this rig. They have a good set of instructions and are available just a phone call away if you have any questions.
It's great to be able to drive with a coffee cup in one hand------especially the first thing in the morning

Thanks folks for the info. My dealer quoted me $650 for the unit and an hour of labor to put it on, so I figure about $750-800 installed. Seems high to me. I'm not mechanically inclined, but I might give this a shot. It doesn't look too hard from what I see in the pics.

I would suggest that you call the factory. I think you would do a lot better on the price, even including shipping. I think I paid a total of around $400 for the one for my Workhorse W-24

I agree with Finhawk, Can't remember exactly, but was under $500 installed at CW.

Steer Safe

I had one put on at an FMCA Rally by the company a few years ago on a Special for $300.00 including labor. They now advertize the system for $410.00 plus shipping. You might call the company and see if they will be at any rallies near you and get a special price. Unfortunately the drivers side fell off while I was driving and did a little damage to the under belly of the coach. It worked good until then.

I have Steer Safe that came on mine when I puechased it. I think if I were to do it again I might look at the Safe-T-Plus

It's funny that you would say that Mike because the dealer is trying to steer us (no pun intended) to Safe-T-Plus also. His logic is that Steer Safe has exposed springs which can rust and lose torsion over time while the Safe-T-Plus system is fully enclosed and therefore not subjected to the elements. Safe-T-Plus is a few more $$$ but when it comes to safety for your family, that may be a very small price to pay.
