Anyone having a coach wandering problem with the Country Coach Inspire? I've it aligned twice and all checks out. It doesn't want to go stright down the road, just wanders and has a lot of oversteer.

Hi Captsilvio,
Welcome to iRV2. I do not have a Country Coach. My signature coach originally drove like a dog hunting rabbits. I went through all the time and $s having:
1. Spartan factory alignment
2. ride height adjusted
3. correct tire PSI for weight being carried
4. Front air bag pressure increased
All to no improvement.

I ended up installing a:
1. Roadmaster anti-sway bar (rear).
2. Howard Precision Steering System
3. Super Steer Motion Control Units (one per air bag).

The coach now drives like an SUV.

Do a search of this forum for the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. You'll be surprised at the level of positive support for this particular product. It not only stabilizes the steering system, it also reduces wear and tear on the entire front end. There are several steering stabilizers on the market but the Safe-T-Plus is a proven solution. I put one on my 2004 Brave and it changed the entire way the rig handled. A rear track bar is also a good choice but only after installing a steering stabilizer. Best of luck.

Jack

My experience was just like Gary's. See my signature for the after market items I've added or do a search on Henderson's products. It's made an amazing difference in our coach.

Did you have the coach loaded for travel when you had the alignments done? That type of wandering is many times from not having enough caster and being back end heavy. Have you had the coach 4 corner weighed and verified your axel weights and distributions? Sometimes just moving some heavy items foward is all it takes to correct this. The products mentioned can help but you are still best off double checking all the variables such as load distribution and tire inflation etc.

I've heard steer wandering complaints from several other Country Coach owners. Seems odd that an otherwise outstanding coach would have handling problems, especially since the Dynomax chassis is custom designed and built for each model (or so CC claims).

Have the same problem with my 2007 Alure. Had everything checked out last month and the only that was out was the front tire pressure and the road hieght.

The drive home seemed better, but not a good test. will post when able to give a good check out.
