Greetings,

Has anyone had any dealings with steering stabilizers? I was looking at SteerSafe and read several reviews on their website. I would like to hear from anyone who might be more knowledgeable than me.

It's a little pricey but the Blue Ox Tru-center gets great reviews. It's on my short list of future up grades.

I had the Safe-T-Steer with the Supersteer Trim Unit halfway on my MH when I found that the bracket did not fit my model Freightliner chassis.

I then put the Blue Ox Trucenter on (much easier installation) and just drove with it down from NJ to FL. Great handling with a heavy cross wind on the Overseas Highway last Monday.

Steer Safe helps, but first try to get the problem fixed. Start by weighing the coach and adjusting the tires to the correct pressure for the load. Next get the front end aligned by a reputable truck shop with the coach loaded for a trip.

I put them on after owning our coach for 18 months, and noticed NO difference. I really think it was a waste of money.

I meant Steer Safe. Could not change title line.

I agree w/Txiceman... first make sure you're not masking some other problem. But, then go with a stablizer.

I got the Safe-T-Steer and love it but am going to add the trim kit ASAP so it can be adjusted while in motion from the captains chair. They add a good degree of safety too.

I had the Steer Safe on our previous coach and liked it. However, on the current coach, I just added a Blue Ox Tru Center and love it. It is wonderful to be able to re-center the steering to counter cross winds, etc. Might be the best upgrade I have done on the coach.

Even if the handling is fine, the additional stability provided by a stablizer may save your life in an emergency.
