My "neighbor" at Yosemite had a homemade step stabilizer on his steps to cut down on rocking when people come in and out of his RV. I thought it was a great idea, so Googled "Step support" and found several manufacturers that sell them for probably less than I could make one.

Does anyone have a commercially made one that they can recommend? ( And preferably a website to go along with the recommendation?)

You would only be able to buy one cheaper because they appear to be on sale.

Try: RV Toy Outlet

This one seems to be backorder....we are well beyond 5/30 now and they have not removed the message. The price is very good $13, rather than $25.

Also check: Camping World, they want $16 ($14 club).

You could make one with plywood, pipe, pipe flange, and a 3/4" or 1" bolt and nut. This would allow you to customize it a little.

Try a bottle jack, it'll do double duty.

I like that idea. Anything that can do more than one task is the best solution. Thanks.

My friend Bud paid a few bucks for a scissor jack at a flea market and bolted it to his bottom step. He uses his rechargable drill-motor to raise and lower it.

One problem has come up though. People stepping on the step have begun to bend the step on each side of the jack point. He is going to have to put a reinforcing strip on it.

For the deluxe solution:

$70 will buy you a 12V powered scissor jack at Harbor Freight

$60 at RV Toy Oulet will buy a 1 ton 12V car jack.

Or, I'll sell you a selection of rocks in various diameters for a buck each plus shipping!
