Question Step working opposite of door

Would anyone know why my electric step closes when my door opens and opens when I close the door? I just bought a new magnetic switch and when I installed it, this was the result. I switched wires but same result.
The step is a Lippert.
Any ideas before I bring it in to a RV mechanic? This seems like it should be a simple fix I can do myself.

Magnetic switches are either N.O. or N.C. for normally open or normally closed. You probably got the wrong switch, and need the other type. If you still have the package it should say what type you installed. Easy fix.
Some switches can be wired either way, your package should say if that's the case.
