The caliper wasn't really sticking very hard, just enough to keep rubbing the rotor and making the temperature go up. I replaced the rotors. I have a trip planned this weekend. I will change my route and my driving habits to prevent the tire from overheating again.

Rob-I use to have a 1992 bounder on a F53 ford frame.I had some what the same problem as you. I found that you also have to clean and use ford silcone brake and caliper grease on the mating surfaces of the caliper.If you dont this also can cause the caliper to stick.
