Suggestions for making offers on last years inventory

We are definitely looking now for a new diesel pusher. Here it is March, and we still see a fair number of last years models, some with stickers marked down to about 72% MSRP.

What are some good strategies for getting the best deal? If we get the price down enough, we could get the next step up in models with a lot of desirable features.

The best deal is the one that leaves you happy with your coach, unless you're in some kind of a "best price" contest. Based on lots of similar threads I've read, you'll likely wind up somewhere around 25 - 30% off retail, depending. So what's more important -- That last 1%, or buying a coach that you 'll truly enjoy for 15 years or more?

Hit 'em at 20% under their marked down price and slowly negotiate up.

Hi Mr. M,
I know of no way to determine the best price except with a signed sales contract, with deposit. Anything else is just BS.
1. Find what you are willing to purchase.
2. Include all the things you want in the contract.
3. Have the sales person write the deal for a price you are willing to pay. Something less than what the dealer is offering. In 05 I got 33-34% off the MSRP on my coach.
4. Write a check for the appropriate deposit.
5. The contract must be signed by the dealer in X number of hours or days. If no, the check and deal are void. Written in the contract.
6. The dealer will try to get more $s out of you.
7. Refuse all these attempts. Courtesy refusal of course.
8. If the dealer signs, you got what you wanted.
9. If the dealer does not sign, walk away with more knowledge than you had before the exercise began.

There is no way to tell how much a dealer will sell a unit for. There is too much going on behind the scenes for the retail customer to make an evaluation. Manufacturer incentives, spiffs to the sales person, floor plan payments, etc. All go into determining what the unit will sell for.

A 28% discount is reasonable on a 2014 model. Only you can determine what your best price is as there are a lot of factors to consider. I really didn't see any better improvements from 2014-2015 in the one we bought, so I'm glad we bought when we did. If you really want the 2015 then get whatever the price is they will sell at, compare the two prices and if a couple thousand more is worth it to you then go with the 2015. At this pricepoint it is all about model preference and you really shouldn't let the price make the decision.

Start low.....like 35 or 40 % off MSRP. You can always go up if you really want the unit. Don't be afraid of hurting the salesmans feelings, and don't be afraid of just walking away. Often you will get a phone call after you leave the dealership.
