Sun shades for passenger and driver windows

Hi all,

Any recommendations for drivers and passenger sun shades. The mirrors are viewed though these windows.

I tried some of the static cling ones and they did not work so well.

Thanks,

There should be sun film installers in your area , but check your local laws before any installation , some don't allow anything really dark forward of the drivers shoulder.

My Dutch Star came with roll down sun shades ( no manufacturer decal on them ) for both sides. So they may be available.

I did look at the tint option, it was about 200$ per window.

Carefree of Colorado makes some; here's a link.

Our coach came with side shades with the perforated "visibility panels" at the bottom, which we found useless at blocking the sun. We opted to replace them with the Maxi SmartVisor, which is totally opaque. To install them I ended up removing the scissor-type holdown mechanism, due to inadequate clearance from the window frame. Instead, we hold them down (at a fixed position) with a piece of light line between the shade and a strap on the armrest. They were not cheap: almost $170 each.

I called a local to tinting company and they said 80-90$ for both windows, need to bring it in for an exact quote.

I am sure I got quoted 250$ last year.

I use one of these on the driver's side.
It could be wider, but it does a good job of cooling the sun's rays while still allowing me to see through it. I mounted it far enough back that I don't look through this to see the mirror.
Tried the cling type on the passenger side, didn't care for them as much.
They blocked the sun, but messed with the view out too much.
Will be getting one of these for that side also (wider, if I can find one).

Sounds pretty good. Keep in mind, if you routinely use your mirrors when backing into a site, very dark tint can be problematic.
