Phelpo you stated you bought the material at Lowes along with the suction cups.

What dept did they have the suction cups, the local Lowes sales people do not think they have them.

Thanks for reply

Chief, the cup was in the curtain dept, I'm
not sure I'll use it, will be going to ACE to
look at their inventory. I need to drill the cup so that I can add a bolt, Lowes cup has a
hook attacked....so I'd have to cut it off.

The DW and I took the sunshade over to the rig
last night and slide it into the bottom of the awning barrel. Worked like a champ. I had the bottom sewed so there is a pocket to slide a line of some type thru it to hold it down. This material from Lowes is 75% sun block, DW
could not see me unless the sun was shining
on me....(now I know where to hide), we could see out just fine. So I know this material will work good for a windshield cover.

Rather than rope you can use a small diameter coax cable.

I use this screen material for an outside carpet. Works great as the rain runs right through and does not kill much grass. I stake it to the ground with large stainless steel washers and aluminum rain gutter spikes.

I have searched for the suction cups and found that they might be avail at the following
Ace Hardware Stores

Michael's Craft Stores

Do-It-Best Hardware Stores

True Value Hardware Stores
Joann Fabrics & Crafts

United Hardware Stores

Wal-Mart Stores - Craft Dept

Do it Best is supposed to have ordered for me but have not called. Will check an ACE this week end as they are not really close to my home.

The cups I have ordered have a 8/32 screw and nut. Check out Adams Mfg on the net or Google suction cups.

For my awning sunscreen to hold in place I use the Dog leash holders that you screw into the ground (Dollar Tree) and hook short bunge cords. The screen is put out on an angle.

Went to ACE yesterday, talked to Bob (great name) the owner, he had small Adams cups but
also showed me larger black cups that are threaded. These cups are used for the roof of
a car for a car carrier. He attached one to
his window and we almost couldn't pull it
off or slide it. I like these and they are
about $3.50 for two. More to follow.

Thanks for the info Chief. I
too use the dog leash holder, but I added
small springs and use a strap to hold the awning down.. it is all good

Up date on the sunshade. Attached it Sat, went on easy, tied down easy, knocked the heck out of the sun, then it rained and it did it's job.
Only change is I'll be adding a middle gromet
at the bottom to hold the middle firmer.
