My old pump head was starting to weep so rather than repair it I replaced it with the shurflo extreme series 5.8gpm pump...WOW what a difference, my shower actually has power now and you can't tell another faucet is running at the same time. I replaced the line from my water tank to the pump with a bigger one because I was doing some plumbing anyways and it seemed important that this pump has suffient water supply to prevent pump cavitation. I also used some insulation around the lines to prevent the pipes from rattling due to pump vibration.
Man this thing is quiet, it sounds like more of a hum than that annoying rattle of my old shurflo 2.8 gpm.

I guess I'll have to watch how much water I go through, you don't want to let the tap run for too long.

Anyone else try these pumps?

Yep, I've had them on my last two coaches and they work great. You do need to be sure to use the high flow strainer assembly as well when upgrading to this pump. Also, to eliminate the pounding from the extra water flow it works best to use the flexible hose kit to isolate the pump from the hard PEX plumbing in the coach. That really cuts down on the vibration. All of this stuff was easy to obtain from RVupgrades.
