Has anyone installed zerk grease fittings on their Black and gray water tank valves? If so, where on the valves should they be installed? Understand there is an article in the latest "Escapees Magazine" about this which recommends doing it and using Vasoline as the grease, but could't get to it as am not a member.I'm sure this has come up before but couldn't find anything using the search function for this forum.

fulltimer01, welcome to irv2
I'am not a member also went to site and there topic discussed it but no pics. On the valve the zerk fitting would be installed on the wide part where the blade travels inside valve they use vasoline as grease because its thin and will flow down thru blade. I have three dump tanks and the rear one is tight to pull for dump may give this a try. They mentioned useing small zerk fittings with teflon tape.
Take a look at Househusbands pics above, on Dancincampers post, you will like.

Ever since we got the guillitine valves, I have found it more than adequate to lube the stems with vasoline when they start to get hard to move. Once a year I empty the tanks completely, put on a rubber glove, open the valve halfway, and coat both accessible halves with vasoline. Stops all problems.
