Tecma Macerator backflow valve needed

Anyone know where I might buy just the backflow valve that sits at the discharge port of the Tecma Silence Plus Toilet Macerator. Tecma says I need to buy the whole macerator/pump to get the valve for $288!!! Outrageous!

Where exactly is the backflow valve? if it's after the macerator to prevent waste from backflowing from your black tank, you might not need the valve if the black tank is lower than the valve. These toilets are often installed in boats that might have to pump up to water level because the toilet is below waterline.

If the backflow valve is to prevent backflow into water supply, then it's pretty important. Check here for a diagram and perhaps a part source:

BFinn ...thanks for your reply. The valve is built into the discharge port of the pump itself. Waste enters through a large hole in the center of the pump and exits out the top through this valve. By the way....the "Fisheries" prices for parts is higher than a number of other sources including Thetford. Thanks for the schematic.
