Don't know if this is the right place for this but will try. I do not like the decorating in our new Newmar 2000 Kountry Star. I really hated the border in the main living area so I pulled it off. The problem is there is still some backing in places left on the walls. I have tried Goo Gone and it hardly touches it. Anybody out there ever take it off easily. I think I can do it with the Goo Gone letting it soak for a while but it is going to take a long time and eat up my finger nails in the process.

Put on some gloves and continue to use the goo gone. Be careful at any seams not to soak it too long as this will attack the glue on the actual wall paper. Good luck and keep us posted.

Goo Gone sells a gel that doesn't run as much. Spray it on and let it sit for five minutes. Then use a plastic scraper (like the ones that are used for smoothing plaster on walls) to remove the melted adhesive. You will have to repeat the process until its all gone. Then wash the area with a mild detergent and warm water. We've removed all of it in our RV. Found it to be tacky looking (no pun intended).

Thanks Jack! I did not know that Goo Gone sells a gel. I will go get some. The liquid does not stay wet long enough to melt through the glue. Yes, I agree with you on the tacky part

My next project will be figuring out how to get the valances off the windows so I that I can re-cover them with something a little more up to date then on to a new sofa.

You might try mineral spirits as an alternative to Goo Gone. Sometimes that will soften a glue that the citrus in GG will not.

Wallpaper stores sell products for removing wallpaper paste, but the trim may have been self-stick, which has a different glue. Here are some tips on wallpaper paste removal

The valances come off with a #2 square drive screwdriver bit.

Remove the screws on the sides that attach the "L" shaped brackets to the inside edges. Don't attempt to remove the ones into the side walls.
