At the Oregon Dunes National ORV Park there

is a sound limit for exhaust noise. While

visiting we noticed some 2-stroke motorcycles

sporting a 90-degree, copper water pipe fitting

for an exhaust extention. It was explained that

if the exhaust was directed at the ground, the

surface tended to break up the sound waves and

the bike was quieter.

I installed one on our Onan and now you can

stand next to it and hear the valve train

clicking.

I made an extension with electric emt and thinwall pvc drain pipe.It takes the fumes up over the roof where there is less chance of getting inside.

Bob---

I have no idea why Newmar dumped the Onan

exhaust out, right under the bedroom slide,

but they did...I am aware of it.

Your mod works, too.

I will soon turn the Onan's exhaust pipe and

run it out the rear of the Coach (like Newmar

should've done it in the first place).
