Thetford toilet issues

My RV came with a Thetford Style Lite/Plus and in the 8 years I have owned it I have had to replace the waste ball 3 times and now the water valve drive arm has broken. All of these parts are plastic and that seems to be the issue. Has anyone else had problems with this model? I am wondering if I should just invest in a new model so I don't have to keep taking it apart for repairs if others are more reliable. I am not a full timer

I would recommend replacing it with a more durable porcelin toilet.
I have a Sealand Traveler that has never given the first problem in 15 years.

Thanks for the reply. It is a porcelain toilet but all of the operating mechanisms are plastic (ball, water valve arm, etc). The parts are not expensive but I don't really want to take it apart every 2 years for a repair. Any recommendations on other brands or models?

Call Thetford and ask about the problems you've experienced.

After 7 years of problems with the Thetford Aria II and hundreds of dollars for repair parts, it became a wonderful boat/mooring anchor.

I now own a Sealand Magnum Opus which has been trouble free for the past 5 years.

I no longer buy anything that has to do with either Thetford or Norcold. I hope they both go out of business.
