Ok we have a new TILE floor ordered, and the MH is now empty of all carpet from front to rear, looks rather nice with a bare floor. 1997 Bounder 35e, wood looks great with just a few stains in the wood from spills. Nothing that is weak.
My question is what to use for the underlayment under the floating floor. I know the sound will be different all together without the carpet picking up some of the road noise.
I could just get what lowes has but should I get the better stuff to maximize sound control

The padding for a floating floor is basically a rubber mat, sturdier than foam carpet pad but still soft enough to give a bit. If you don't think Lowe's standard stuff is good enough, order some through a flooring company. I used Armstrong's brand when I installed their laminate floor in my stick home.

I hope you don't mean ceramic tile. That would add around 1000 lbs to your coach and with the frame twisting it will crack. Laminate flooring is your best choice and just use the regular under layment from Lowes. It will deaden the sound.

That may be the case, however I have tile throughout my coach and it has not cracked. I took a tour of Winnebago's factory on friday and they have an assembly line that installs tile in many of the new coaches.

They now use a special tile with special grout. If you have noticed they are also using smaller tiles these days. Almost every older coach I have looked at with the larger tiles some are cracked. They are also diesels on heavy frames. Adding a half ton to a gasser may put you over weight and it isn't going to help your millage.
