Can anyone recommend a dealer for 22.5" RV tires in the Denton, TX area. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bill Senick

Costco will probably have a decent price, but I'm not sure they will mount them. In fact I'd bet a steak dinner that the techs there don't even know what a 1" air wrench looks like. And Costco doesn't have a jack to lift your MH.

Not a slam on Costco, they just have limitations.

Leave the installation to the experts, and find a commercial dealer to purchase your tires from too.

Save money, live better. Okay, maybe I've mixed company slogans. But I took my Michelin XRV 22.5s purchased from Discount Tire ($2250) and rolled them into my cabin (why else do I have such a big vehicle) and transported them to the "big guys" near I-10 for mounting and balancing (with lead weights).
I think they charged something like $100 per tire (6) but I still came out ahead when I asked about their pricing. And I know I could have saved even more had Costco started selling RV tires a year earlier!

I eventually sold the 7 year old set of six tires for $100 each to a guy on Craigslist for his dump truck.

Costco also has a promotion on Michelin tires for a few more days; Purchase 4 MICHELIN® tires between 4/14/08 - 5/18/08 and receive a $60 Cash Card Standard Rebate sent by mail .

Bill, Call Kris Davis at TCI tire center.

You can purchase Michelin XRV 235/80R/22.5's at Costco for $269 ea.,and Kris will mount balance and install them for about $350 or you can get the whole 9 yards (6 XRV tires mounted, balanced and installed)from Kris at about $2300.
If you need any help or more info you can email me at glenn@oem-engineering DOT com. I am in McKinney which is near Denton.

Good luck - Glenn

Tom & Patty;

I called my local Sams Club. They have 22.5" Michelins and Goodyears in stock.

They mount RV tires. $12.00 per tire - Dual Wheeled Vehicles & Campers. They use an air jack the same as my large over the road truck garage.

If you buy from Cosco and they can not install the tires, they will give an install credit. The price of the tire includes the install fee. This is stated in the small print on the Cosco web page.

Thanks Glenn, I called Kris Davis today and he is going to hook me up. I am out here for a horse show in Ft. Worth and time is of the essence.

Kris was great and will have them installed on the 20th. Thanks again, Bill Senick

Here in the Tampa Bay area the local to me Sams Club charges a bit more than the local Wingfoot dealer and can not mount them. Almost $500 a tire for the GS670RV 24570R19.5G once you get them mounted and balanced. It looks like there is no one universal answer as to the best place to buy tires. You gotta shop around.

Allso I have been learning that on the 19.5 670RV's there have been durability problems with the load range F and many installers are reccomending getting the load range G instead. A few have mentioned that on the F53 chassis the 19.5 GS670RV sometimes will not balance quite right and give harmonics no matter what they do and they sometimes have to use equal or beads instead of weights to get them passable as no amount of reindexing, rim swapping, etc seems to get them 100% right.

Still learning still shopping here.
