Has anyone tried the Hawkshead TPMS tire pressure monitoring system? Would like to install some type of system on my motor home but would appreciate any input you may have on different pressure monitoring systems. Thanks.

I bought one and have it on my Jeep. It works well. I bought sensors for the motorhome, too, but I haven't installed them yet.

Here's a link to more info.

Joe,
Thanks so much for your help-will order tomorrow. Was going to buy a different unit from CW. The lady salesperson said they were great and they had never had a complaint orr gotten a unit back. Went back to CW on our way back through 2 days later to buy the system but it was Sunday and they had not opened yet. Went on home and pulled up info on the internet about that unit and learned that nobody had had good luck with it. Glad CW was closed. Thanks again Joe. ROLL TIDE!

I'm wondering if the Hawkshead and Tireminder TPMS TMG400C (MinerResearch.com) are the same product in different packaging. I'm going to purchase a system as well, but am confused on these two systems.

We own and use the Hawkshead system and have had superior results for 6000+ miles and one year. The Tireminder looks like the Hawkshead but cost is way out of line when considering the "heavy duty" systems (200+ psi) which we ordered as the "mid-range" system with less psi capacity was to near our operating range. Additional sensors for the toad are half again more for the TM system

Plug in "Hawkshead" to the iRV2 search engine and find lots of info

Their TMG500HD is the same as the HawksHead, the TMG400C is for cars.
Same thing, but like H Miller said, way more money. $225 for HawksHead vs. $299 for Miner. That's for the 4 wheel kit. Extra sensors are the same at both places.

Having checked both the Minder Research TMG-400C & the HawksHead Pressure Track HD systems and costing out both with sensors for 6 tires and a signal booster (recommended by both mfgrs for distances greater than 25') I find the two to be within $28 of one another (pre tax & freight). I used a local retail price for the Minder Research product and direct from HawksHead for theirs when comparing. I'll buy from my local retailer so I can get at 'em if need be. Both look like good systems.

btw - make sure the sensors are made of "like metal" to that of your valve stems to avoid corrosion problems.

Incidentally, if their web site is to be believed, the TMG400C is for RVs. See their URL at http://www.minderresearch.com/catalog/i5.html and HawksHead products at http://www.tpms.ca/HDPURCHASE.php

I have the Hawkshead. I have some trouble with what appears to be false reading or no reading that has been inconsistent. I also found that buying out of Canada included high shipping and a dollar exchange of $18 that showed up on my credit card.

I have the TireTraker TPMS and it is working for me. Started with 10 sensor set up but decided to split it out to a two system set up, one for the MH and the other for the toad by adding a second monitor. I suggest not scrimping on any suggested booster. Met them at THE RALLY in Louisville and find them very helpful before and after the sale.
Good Luck, and stay safe.
