Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Asking for advice from those of you who have purchased and are using Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. During a refueling stop recently, I discovered that both right side tires on my towed vehicle were going down. I made it to a tire shop for repairs after using the rv air system to re-inflate the tires. That did it for me without some type system.
I've researched many brands, each with a hefty price tag for 10 tires I might add, and have homed in toward the Tire Minder brand. However, I am open to others if I can get a majority advice on a particular brand or model. I'm nearing the completion on a trade deal for a tag axle unit so I then would need one for 12 tires.
Thanks to all

I have been using Tire-SafeGuard for 5 years and am very happy. I bought it because it was the only system (at the time) with flow thru sensors. They now have replaceable batteries also. Customer support is 24/7.

Search the forums for TPMS, you will find hours of reading on the various TPMS available.
From a customer service side you cant beat TST

I have the TST 507 system (for just a short while now) and like it so far. Yes, they can get pricey for lots of tires.

Hi daniel68509,
I've used Pressure Pro since 2005. It works as advertised and I would make the purchase again. That being said, all the brands work. The technology is a commodity. Consider determining how each Brand works and what are you most comfortable with. Then buy that brand. For me, this is a long term purchase. A difference in price of one over the other; over the life of the purchase does not mean much.

I would only suggest that you consider a TPMS system that also monitors temperature.

I just ordered a 14 tire system from TST and due to deliver tomorrow. After reading all the great reviews and the fact that they measure the pressure, temp, and replaceable batteries I thought it was the right choice for me. Not cheap but neither are tires these days.

I installed the TST 507 system a few months ago. Biggest thing I like about it I can check tire pressures during pre-flight without having to break out the tire gauge.

Question - What keeps someone from stealing the sending units? It seems that these are quite expensive to buy.

The TST sensors (except the flow through) require a special wrench.

I have the Tire Minder and an pleased with it. I think it is similar to the TST. There are locking rings that have set screws that you can get for antic-theft but I did not go for them.
It is great to be able to check the tire while traveling.

Ok, so if you have standard sensors (special wrench) they are not easy to steal, but flow through (dont need to remove to add air) just spin off. Am I correct?

Thanks to all for the advice about tpms. I'll do a little more research and then purchase.
