Tire pressure monitoring systems

Good idea or no m. If yes, where do you get them... ie. Truck tire centers or rv dealer service centers?

Yes, they are great ideas. I wouldn't go anywhere without mine. RV accessory dealers, or google them online.

I've been using the TST507 TPMS for three years and it has worked great.

Good idea? YES!

Buy them online, Amazon, Ebay, or direct from the maufacturer's site in some cases. Or discount online RV stores. The systems are pretty much plug & play.

Are the sensors mounted on the valve stems?

Most of the over the counter TPMS systems have sensors that screw onto the tire valve. Some have flo-thru sensors and some have cap sensors. I chose cap sensors as they require less clearance and introduce one less valve in the sensor. I only unscrew them once in a blue moon to adjust air pressure so not a big deal.
As others mentioned, any system is better than none...I have EEZ TPMS and i'm very happy with it. No range extender needed on my rig.

there are many makes of it in the market. don't know which one is the best but one thing for sure - it's definitely a nice-to-have if NOT must-have.

i have been using mine since 2012, and it's still going loyally. it saved me a big at downward rolling at west of denver one time, preventing my wheels from overheating.

mine is a tireminder, looks like this

check Minder Research..

When I was shopping attributes that were important were small mass, putting less stress on the metal valve stem. Field replaceable batteries and seeing coach and trailer sensors on a single screen

IMO, I don't see any reason not to have a TPMS and several reasons to have one. How about loss of pressure which results in high temp on a steer axle tire, leading to a potential blowout? With your TPMS, an alarm would sound if you hadn't noticed the numbers changing on the display. If you value safety, it's a no-brainer. I use EezTire non-flow through.

When I bought my coach the first two things I bought was a Progressive EMS surge protector, and a TST 507 TPMS. After one year I added the 510 sensors to my toad. They have saved me several times.
