Anyone know how to tell the country of origin or the manufacturer on tires??? I am buying Hercules Tires for the MH and see that several companies supply them

Dave...I found the same list...but I am not sure what P, HP, LTR, LTB and MTB mean..is it a tire series, and if so, which one is the commercial tire...the commerical Hercules series I am buy are H802....16 ply H rated...so I am still clueless....

The country of origin/manufacture is part of the DOT tire code on the sidewall. Here is the list of tire codes and the country they represent:

P is Passenger, HP is High Performance, LTR is Light Truck Radial, LTB is Light Truck Bias and MTB is ?? Bias..maybe Motorhome Truck ???

Normally I would use PSR for pass radial, LTR for LT radial and TBR for Truck/Bus radial. But the real way to know is to read the tire size. If it includes R as in 275/70R22.5 it is Radial. If 205/70D15 it is Diagonal or Bias. Also if it doesn't say "Radial" or have the R before the rim diameter part of the size, it isn't.

These "type" tire designations are not always 100% accurate for predicting where a specific tire was made as production shifts all the time as money values and import / export rules and tarrifs change.

The DOT Plant code list is the only reliable way to know. Gary, Thanks for posting the link.
