Toilet Pedestal

Greetings all!
Well, after 3 years of owning our 98 Allegro Bus, I decided to tear into our overly tall toilet. The toilet was on top of a pedestal, in the pic the floor flange is 7.5" off the floor and the seat of the toilet measured over 20" from the floor. Yep, tippy toeing for us short people. After the demo, I came to the conclusion that Tiffin must have made a mistake in the bathroom floor plan?? Why would you double 90 the plumbing into a holding tank?
I am limited on what I can actually do to lower the pedestal other than by doing some "altered" new black pipe plumbing. My plan is to lower it by (I hope) at least 1.5"s
Happy camping:
More tomorrow.

Use a mascerator style toilet that can be mounted on flat of floor and plumbed to the drain.

All done but for some trim work. Seat measured 17.5" Not to bad for a rookie. Thanks for looking.

So.. Did you "alter" the pipes or find shorter elbows?

I have to do something with mine too. I hate 'jumping' off the seat. I'm thinking about a small platform in front of the pedestal.

I bought all new schedule 40, one 90 was like a reducer that fit into the gasket on top of the holding tank. I cut off one inch of the 90 to the floor flange and an inch off the flange itself. I cut out the floor under the piping, that gave me a little more room to lower it a little more.
Some will criticize the ways, but it's good to me. Solid as the orignal.
