A strap hinge with the end bent into a hook fastened above the seat might work easier.Lined with the loop part of self stick velcro to prevent scratching and paint it red so it won't be noticed.

Use the sink! But be polite and take the dishes out first

Placing a magnet on the wall would hold it up out of the way. If you didn't want to paint it red you could wrap it and hold the padding on with a condom.

Ditto 'TW', no drips, runs, or splatters makes for a very happy wife!

magnetic cabnet latch. the striker plate doesn't have to make full contact with the magnet. that will make it easier to release

Just park with the lid headed downhill. The fridge may not work as well, but the potty will.

I would try Cialis (ready when you are) and assume a kneeling position. That gives you full control of the seat with your hands without having to lean over. and the proper extension to control splatter. When you get bored you could switch up to a lifted leg position, left or right. It's time to put fun back into those necessary chores !!!

Sit, I don't care how good you are at aiming, in close quarters seat up or down there will be splatters on the wall. Just get your wife to go first so the seat won't be so cold.
