I'm sure my new friends here will have a home made or aftermarket solution to keep the toilet seat up.... Seems whether i'm level or not, the seat keeps falling down and usually gets wet as do my feet in the process

I've looked everywhere online for RV supplies and no one seems to have invented a latch to keep the seat up.

How about a small bungi cord and a stick on hook ( plastic ) to the Wall

Is the seat one of those padded types? I find they have a propensity to fall at the most inopportune times! Also seat covers that have some fancy cover that pushes the seat away from the tank when open.

One option is to loosen the seat bolts and nuts and slide the bottom of the seat as far away from the tank as possible. There is usually some play in the bolt holes. Wedge some small scraps of wood between the bolt and the back of the hole to keep the bolts foward. This will hopefully put the seats center of gravity behind the bolts.

You can also go for the AUTOMATIC toilet seat!

I'll confess. I sit, mainly due to the "close quarters". Honestly, there's no sin in it guys. Besides, the door's closed (I hope) so who knows but you. I'm sure whoever cleans your bathroom will thank you too.

It's not padded, just a hard plastic seat and lid. there is no tank, but the toilet sits too close to the wall. I got a pop rivet gun and put a rivet in the wall behind the toilet to use a small bungie, but the rivet I used won't accept threads... I now know I should have used a threaded insert rivet or one with lead in the camfer to take threads. Now I suppose i'll have to carefully pull that rivet out and replace it with a larger, threaded insert type. So a bungie cord it is. Thanks all for the help.

I explain to my sons that, while traveling, if they don't want to sit, the MUST maintain a secure 'tripod' position with two feet on the floor and their forehead leaning against the overhead cabinet. This positions them directly above the toilet and leaves two hands free for 'aiming' while the RV swerves, hits potholes and generally undulates.

Needless to say, my wife still complains about the splatter.

I sit, even if I'm in the stick house. When I'm finished I put both lids down. When my dear wife asked why I put the top lid down I replied, "On those occasions that I wish to be a "real" man, if I have to lift one, so do you."
