I am planning on towing my boat with my RV and noticed that the RV has a 6 way round plug and my boat has a 5 way flat plug, I can not seem to find a 5 to 6 way adapter. I called the boat dealer and the RV dealer, no one could help or give me any real help. Stopped by CW nothing there either. Does anyone make a 5 to 6 way adapter? What are my options if not?

thanks in advance,

John

Cut the boat 5 way and put the same 6 way as your rv. Or to make it even easier put a 7 way on each end.You will never have a problem find adapters.I just spent the last couple of days wiring a trailer and my jeep toad, fun fun fun!!

John:

On my boat trailer (Ranger), the extra wire in the trailer plug is for a solenoid that releases the surge brake when you put the towing vehicle in reverse. If that is your case, you may have to get a 6 wire male plug and a 5 wire female plug and make up your own adaptor. Most 6 prong adpator set ups I've seen are 6 to 4. Have you checked Hopkinsmfg.com? They make Hoppy products and they may have it. Advance Auto Parts stores can usually order most anything from Hoppy that they don't have in stock.
