TPMS

Is anyone about to purchase a Hawkshead TPMS system?

I purchased the Doran TPMS. I wanted a proven system that has been around for a long time. Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but will be leaving on our Alaskan trip the beginning of May. It will be well used for the following 5-6 months so I will have a better opinion after that trip.

I purchased the RV360 - 10 sensor unit with the repeater. The main control sits where my old navigation unit was mounted on the small center dash console to the driver's right. Used the same mounting bracket, very convenient. The repeater is installed in the closet.

There is another pretty long thread about Hawkshead and a ton of testimonials.

I bought mine about a month ago after reading that thread. Just drove from NJ to FL with the system and it performed flawlessly.

I had trouble with the set up which was my own fault because I did not read the directions closely. Once I set up the target pressures on the system, it worked like a champ. I have it monitoring both the coach and the toad. I did NOT need the signal booster.

Recently ordered the Hawkshead Pressure Track HD system with an additional 6 sensors to cover both our coach and car hauler. Because of the significant distance between the trailer tires and the monitor up front, I also ordered the signal booster.

Looking forward to installing and trying out in a few weeks on our drive back from Florida.

>Have one, recently went on a 8000 mile trip and had a lot of false alarms, and was ready to send it back, BUT after reading replies on here and others I think that I don't have things set properly. And in all fairness, I have not contacted them about it. Waiting for the next trip. I believe it is a good system.

I ordered a 10 tire set last week. They are on back order & was told the expect to ship the unit around April 5th.

Why did you ask if anyone was about to purchase?

I got mine in January and am satisfied. I have 8 on theM/H and 4 on the Jeep. I have the repeater due to length. after start up problems of my own doing it has worked without error. I am keeping a record of start time pressures and temps and trip end pressures and temps. I monitor along the way. Just establishing a data base. I also thump my tires each day of travel just to make sure.
