So I've tried every autoparts (it seems) around me and none of them carry the Transynd fluid for the Allison Transmission. Does everyone buy it from the dealer or service center? Or is there another place I can get it? I need 28 quarts. Planning on changing out from the Dextron III

I just picked up a gallon to carry as spare. The only place I could find it was a shop that serviced Allison. It was $40 for the gallon.

Look in the yellow pages for your nearest Allison dealer. They'll have it.

I have had the same problem. I've checked in more auto supply stores than I care to count. Most of them have never heard of it.

It appears that the only place to find it is at an Allison shop.

I just tried to have an autoshop order it for me from Castrol. Not was it even on his list but he called and they would not give it to him. We are stuck with Allison Dealers or service centers. I had to go to the Allison website and download there service center vendors. Of course I can get it from them but it costs more than anywhere I've seen. I had to have them order me some in as they didn't even have it. I didn't want to know the cost until I pick it up next week.

FIND a Detroit Diesel Allison Regional Service Center and have your transmission "power flushed"! They only charged me for 13 quarts and the DDA told me that transmission is pretty close to being 100% Transynd.

While there a professional Allison technician will look over your transmission to see if it needs any other type of service.

Fluid & labor was less than $300.00. It was worth it. One flush, one time.

I did get a price and it was for $695.00. They do what they called a clean out that is 95% pure when done. A flush as used by other service centers is dangerous for the Allison Transmission as told to me by Allision. I was told if I do it myself then I should just do it over two changes as I can not get what is in the torque converter out. If I decide to do it at once or over two intervals is up to me. If I want to estabilish a warranty then it has to be done all at once at a service center, otherwise no extended warranty. They don't leave a lot of options. Where did you get yours done for under 300 Driver? I think Monday I start calling all the service centers in LA for prices.
