True. Sucks air in from black tank if exhaust fan is on when you flush.

I bet you'll only leave it on one time when you flush.

Depends on occupant at the time. The black tank odor may be the better of the options.

If you have your bathroom window open, or your door ajar you won't get an odor from the black tank or it will be minimal.

I heard if you have the Fantastic Fan blowing in and you flush while seated you'll end up in the black tank

Boy...that would suck!

I think the rumor is false. I've flushed many times with the door closed, window shut and the fan on high...all I get is a light scent of Night Booming Jasmine.

We've never had any smells either when flushing with the fan on.

Just wait until you open the door and turn off the fan, that way all can enjoy the scent of jasmine or in my rig, beer and chili....LOL

The "rumor" is certainly true in my coach.

The toilets in our rig are the macerator type - when flushed, there is a significant "whooshing", and the bowl empties quickly. Never noticed any difference with any vent configuration, though my ears pop if the room is isolated when flushing. Now that is some serious sucking - I hope I never experience the odor that can fight its way out of that maelstrom!
