TT axle spacing
While shopping for a new travel trailer recently I noticed that several of the units on the dealer's lot had a larger-than-normal spacing between the twin axles of the trailer. We haven't RV'd much the last few years but I can't remember ever seeing this configuration before. Has anyone out there driven one of these models? It seems to me that the extra couple of feet between the axles would cause a problem when backing the trailer because the trailer would be trying to pivot on one or the other (probably the forward one) and thus skidding the tires on the other axle. Also, with the rear axle being further back on the trailer that would increase the turning radius while backing. Any comments would be appreciated.
