TV Decision

I have a winegard satellite tv antenna that I would like to convert to dish network. Is there such an animal and is it difficult to do? DW is getting tired of only being able to get local tv, and that is somewhat sporadic.

Depends on what model dish you have. Some of the domes have a switch that changes it from DTV to Dish

Our Winegard was switched to Dish. It works fine but I found many of the places we go the signal was blocked by trees. I got a Pathway X2 portable satellite dish. It is easy to set up and because it can access either the eastern or western arcs you can almost always get a signal.

If you have an automatic Winegard satellite dish of some sort, it will already be set up for some service, typically Dish or Direct. If a manually aimed, open face dish, it may be usable as is, with the right LNB installed. In any case, you need a satellite receiver for the network you choose, and a subscription for its programming.
