Wondering if any Californians have had a problem getting a smog cert. with the UltraPower cold air intake. I know they {Brazels} says that they have submitted it for CARB approval but who knows how long that will take. I have one more year till I have to get a smog check and I don't really want to put the old stuff back on just so I can pass the visual portion.

I don't know specifically what that particular cold air intake looks like, but wether it passes smog will hinge on if the system is still able to be considered a "closed" system. That is that the air box or filter does not allow gas fumes to escape into the atmosphere.

That's why the old high performance air filter bolted on top of a 4 barrel carb are not approved unless the car is a "classic".

Craig, you might want to read the following link Ultrapower Upgrade. There's a lot of discussion on this subject within this posting. Sorry to say you'll probably have to read most of the posts to get to the CARB discussions. You might be able to search within the post though.
