Mike,
Yep, those are impressive numbers. As soon as I can find the ECU number you need, I'll purchase your chip.
I need that HP and torque you found lurking in my BBC!

Mike,
Do you have UltraPower numbers to post for the 98 Vortec 7400? I only saw the dyno charts for the 8.1 on your site.

2000 - 7.4L
Before
HP 207 @ 3000 RPM
TQ 338 @ 2400 RPM
After
HP 250 @ 3500 RPM
TQ 395 @ 2550 RPM

OemTech,
I take it those Dyno results were from best peak readings correct?
I know neither are at the same RPM nor at the rated RPM so therefore my above statement, but they sure are Low Readings.
Stock, Aren't you suppose to be 275 Hp and 430 Ft.Lbs ?

Takereasy,
On the number OEM gave you,the stock peak was at 3000 rpm(207) & afterward the peak was 250 @ 3500 RPM.That was programming only & the 454's dont have the benefit of the large manifold's & dual exhaust,as found on the 8.1's

Mike, So the 275 GM put in their specs really isn't there? I'm just curious is all. GM is publishing Rear Wheel HP correct?
Is the ECM Programming only for the 7.4 any cheaper or the same as the 8.1?

Takereasy,
Here are the Flywheel ratings of Gm big block's since 95'
454 TBI 230 horsepower at the flywheel
454 Vortec 290 horsepower at the flywheel
496 votec 340 horsepower at the flywhel
All of these engine's can be had in a pickup truck and the HP at the ground is 15% or so less than the rated number.
In a Motorhome however we are seeing a 25-30% drop at the rear wheels.

Mike,
Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Been busy and hectic here.
Cannot locate the ECU # in my Airstream Land Yacht. The ECU is attached to the steering column, and is surrounded by wires, harnesses, etc., etc. and it is virtually impossible for me to see the number. One of your experts will have to locate it.
So, I'll have to get the UP chip when I am out there in September. Can I get it installed by Keith in Redlands? Redlands would be much more convenient for me.
Thanks,
FRank

If your Wi-Fi connection or Cellular connection "Stinks" next time you are in Quartzsite stop by Scott of the dusty foot and he will set you up with a good reliable Internet connection.
Like your systems, all it takes is money

How can someone in QZ set up an internet connection the will be 'reliable' elsewhere?
