I installed a "Gatorback" fan belt on my W-22, 8.1 gas engine in September of '09. It stopped the squeeling-- for a while.

Today it squeeled for a second or two and then let go. Yes the dash air was on.

Here's what it looks like today-

Installed in Sep, '09 and 3000 miles later.

I carry a spare belt and I crawled up under the rig, on the shoulder of the Interstate, near my house, and installed it. I'm getting ready for the trip to Maine (from North Carolina) in two weeks. I filled the rig with gas, propane, and got it weighed. I was checking out the new dash A/C compressor, as it's been hot as the devil since I pulled into the home place after a winter on the Gulf Coast. I immediately went and bought another spare- A Gates belt. The Car Quest # KO61080 (it's a 108" belt).

No more "Gatorback" belts for me.

Just something you might want to check as this happened to me on my last coach even though mine was a F53. I had my belt start squealing and if I didn't stop right away and tighten it ( had 2 serpinteen belts one an the auto tentioner , other adjusted by moving the alternator) it would shred. Found that a small section of the alternator pulley was all rusted and pitted causing sharp edges to cut thru the belt when it slipped. Changed the pulley and never had a belt issue again.
