Use of Motorhome

just a general question for those that own motorhomes.....this question also applies to owners of any type of rv.......travel trailers, fifth wheels, etc............how often do you use your rv?..........i know there are some that full time, so those folks need not waste their time on my question. i am talking about those, especially retired folks, that have that rv sitting out in the driveway, ready to use anytime...............i am interested in how often you get out on the road, and what is the normal duration of your trips?............just curious........thanks in advance.............

Twice a year

1) In the late spring for a week to 10 days. Usually go east and hang out.

2) In the Winter for three months, Head southwest for a couple months.

We use it 5 or 6 times, while at our NY summer house, for family visits or site seeing, a day away.

Come Fall, we use it for 6 to 8 weeks, zig zagging our way to FL, where we store it and move aboard our boat.

In spring, its back to NY.

Small B+/C-.
One week in spring at race track.
Two weekends in summer.
4 weeks long distance trip in fall.
One week deer hunting camp.
Backyard camp every few weeks throughout the year for fun and to keep the cats acclimated to the MH.

Still working so when retired will do much more.

Fall - every other weekend at football games. Winter - Thanksgiving and Christmas to visit family
Jan - March typically 1 - 2 rallies.
April - Jun Almost every weekend
July - August - at least one short trip (3-4 days) and one long trip (10+ days).

Before we retired, we used our RV almost every month. Now that we are retired, we take it out almost monthly, but we are out for longer trips.

If we're going to get everything packed up for travel, I like to go for at least a week. In a typical year we'll do 4-5 rallies in spring and fall then at least 6 weeks each summer and winter, so around 16 weeks per year.

We usually go for 9-10 weeks in the summer, then another 10 days to 2 weeks in the fall to see the fall leaves. There is usually another short jaunt closer to home sometime late winter/early spring. I'll admit we don't use it as often as we thought we would. We're hoping to get away for 4 months next summer-fall.

I have only owned my current coach for a little under 2 years after being RV-less for about a decade. I am semi-retired, my wife still works full time, so I find myself traveling solo about 1/3 of the time, with my 20 something year old son about 1/3 of the time and with my wife about 1/3 of the time. If all goes as planned (we are leaving on a 12 day trip tomorrow), I will be at the 120 days onboard point by the 2 year purchase anniversary, with slightly heavier use in the first year, say around 70/50 nights.

Just retired last year and went snow birding for 5 months straight in it. Going for 6 months this year. In the off season, Spring n Summer, we use it only a couple weeks total as we have yard and garden work that keeps us at home. It sits in my climate controlled man cave behind the house when not in use so as not to weather it unless we are using it. Randy

Not retired, I make about 10-12 trips per year, typically 3-4 day weekend trips. Hopefully going to make some longer trips in the close future....
