Using suction cups on full body paint with a genturi

Hi,

Can suction cups damage full body paint? Its to hold a genturi in place.

Thanks,

I’ve used them for others things and didn’t damage it.

Nope. Been using them for years for the Kitty Kondos we used to have made and sell. We no longer have them and can't get them so this is not a commercial post!
There are two large suction cups at the bottom to protect the paint.

I agree with others. That full-body paint is tough!

Unicorn Driver,
As has been stated, for the most part, full body paint is pretty darn tough stuff. In all my years of seeing it (as long as it's been done) I've pretty much never seen any of it peeling or it's clear coat peeling. But, I (and many, many others) have seen the clear peeling on top radius for sure.

Anyway, I built/created my own genturi and, for keeping the stack stable and close to the coach, I used the suction cup from my Go-Pro camera kit. They say, (whoever "they" are) that, that suction cup is strong enough to pull dents from auto accidents on doors etc. I wouldn't know, never tried it for that. But, as for keeping my genturi stack stable and close to the coach, I couldn't have come up with a better idea.

Regardless of which suction cup you use I would advise anyone using these to clean the area where it will be attached. While you are cleaning be sure to check the suction cup for dirt or grime which could scratch the surface of your RV.
I do this and have never seen damage caused by the suction cup(s).

Yessiree bub,
When I originally built it, that's the stack I used. It is a plastic downspout for rain gutter. It worked in the initial tests of about an hours running on the gen. But, with a pretty good load on the gen, after about an hour and a half, it started to weaken. So, I simply purchased an aluminum one. Same dimensions, same length only it's now white. I designed and built it so it mimics an original genturi design. The difference is, I have about $20 total in mine and it looks almost identical to the original.

I use a suction cup bath handle as an additional support incase of high winds and have no problems. I also had issue with the Gen-Turi touching the top of my unit and came up with a $4 solution. I attached a 3 inch muffler clamp to the mid point of the upper pipe and glued a piece of pool noodle to it. Now it doesn't touch my unit and stops any vibration.
