I ONLY fuel at truck stops, primarily Flying J and Pilot. In many years of travel and hundreds of fill-ups, I have never tracked anything into the coach from these so-called “nasty” fuel locations.

Another false wives tale...

Same thing in boating

My boat could only take a certain GPM diesel flow and many marinas had both low and fast flow pumps.

Truck stops have high speed pumps too. I found the nozzle “fits” in my outlet but it can’t take the flow. I never walk away while fueling. I also never top off. Diesel foams too much.

How did you apply for the EFS card? Everything I see asks for your company on the application. I could put it under my company but I feel silly doing it for use in my motorhome.

I just left the company name blank. The card is issued in my name alone. Call them if you have questions - they are pretty easy to work with. They are slammed with new applications right now since they opened this up to RVs, so you may have to leave a message.

Wow lots of good advice.
18 wheelers have a different tank, they deposit fuel directly into a tank, RV’s have a fuel hose which the fuel travels down before reaching the tank.
Yes you get foam, yes you need to be on slow and yes you should have paper towels around the nosel to prevent spillage and yes you need to Pay Attention! As it fills. I walk around and check the doors, tires and Toad as it fills, clean the windshield but don’t stop Paying Attention. Best of luck.

If you read the fine print about this card you will discover that it is an EFS card issued through a "third party" (TSD Logistics). TSD takes 25% of whatever discount the EFS card provides (which isn't all that large) and then at some locations, such as Love's, there's another 65 cent charge.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'll stick with my Sam's Club credit card that gives me 5% back on all gas and diesel purchases. If someone needs help on the math, 5% is 15 cents per gallon off of $3/gallon gas!

Not sure what you read to get that information. In my experience, TSD takes only 10% of the discount, and there is no extra fee from Loves. This has been the real world experience for many others as well.

I don't know where you got your information, but TSD takes 10% of the difference between the retail price and their discount price which is published daily on their website. The discounts at Loves and T/A are between 35˘ and 45˘ per gallon. There is no separate 65˘ charge.

You don't need to read any fine print to know it's a EFS card issued by TDS Logistics and you are totally wrong on the charges. They take 10% of the discount and there are no other charges. Here's a link to their website: https://www.tsdlogistics.com/services/fuel-program/

My mistake, yes they take 10% rather than 25% but the EFS average discount is only ~12 cents per gallon to begin with, as stated on the EFS website.

As for the other fee I noted, the following is a direct lift from the TDS website:

I think you have bad info, I’m saving $.40-.50 off the CASH price at Loves. My last fill up I paid 2.41 and the cash price was 2.99. This card is great and it allows you to complete your transaction at the pump. I also get a confirmation email showing the transaction the same day.

The information I'm citing comes straight from the EFS website. You may receive a larger or smaller discount at any particular fueling station, but if EFS says the average is 12 cents per gallon then I would tend to believe it.

For whatever reason you seem determined to not understand the program, that is superior to the 5% you’re touting. FYI, there’s a current 31 page thread about the TSD fuel card; you might want to read some of the posts so you know the facts. You’ll find average savings aren’t reality.

TSD is sharing their trucking fuel discount, not a discount from EFS; EFS just issues the card. At many Loves the discount is $.50 or more, with TSD taking 10% of the savings; the end result is much better than 5%. Loves is currently where the best discounts are to be had, but that’s fine with me because Loves is everywhere I go.

Furthermore, this program isn’t based on blind faith. TSD regularly (daily) publishes the discounts (through their website) available at every station their card and discount are honored so it’s easy to pick a fuel stop with the best discount. For those of us who only go to truck stops for diesel this is a great program.
